AI Headshot Generators Comparison Table

Comparison table: The 6 AI headshot generator tools I tested with a detailed feature breakdown

Introduction

As a solopreneur, my face is the face of my business.

I’ve built my audience by showing up consistently, nurturing my audience’s trust, and keeping the behind-the-scenes as transparent as possible.

This has been my way of standing out in the online world. High-quality images are an important part of my process. They help me capture the audience’s attention and create a personal connection with them.

Every time I write a new article or launch a service, I need to share images to keep my content relatable.

I also need images when I create proposals or pitch decks to collaborate with other brands as their strategist.

But it’s just too much pressure to have the perfect picture that matches the vibe or looks professional enough for what I need.

I can’t afford to delay my ideas just because I don’t have a perfect image to post with my content.

Here’s the catch: I spend all my time writing and creating content. How do I carve out time for photoshoots? How do I get pictures in multiple outfits for different purposes?

I needed to find a way to get things done without letting perfectionism slow me down or stressing out.

That’s when I decided to try out AI headshot generators.

Experts have already predicted that 90% of online content will be generated entirely by AI without any human involvement by 2026.

In the AI tools category, image generators are the fastest-growing tools, with a whopping 441% year-on-year growth rate.

This shows their increasing importance in the digital space, especially among creators or business owners to leverage AI for their improved branding.

So, I tried to explore some of these tools on my own, and here’s an honest verdict about my experience.

AI Headshot Generation Services on Fiverr

Creating the best headshot for all your professional needs is super simple on Fiverr.

You can connect with expert designers and get a personalized picture created with utmost precision without stressing about the filters, lighting, or any other effects.

Fiverr makes it easy to find a professional and experienced AI designer who can meet your expectations within your budget. You can even choose your image generator based on response time.

  • Go to Fiverr and search for AI headshot generators.
  • Use the filters to narrow down your search to the most appropriate profiles.
  • Browse through top profiles based on their skills, response time, experience, etc.
  • Connect with them to understand if they’re the right fit for the role.

Another thing that I really liked about Fiverr is the complete packages these experts offer, like book cover designing, image editing, or upscaling along with AI image generation.

I connected with a top freelancers on Fiverr, uploaded one selfie, and told them I wanted a business headshot for my LinkedIn. They asked me a few questions like — what color suit I wanted, if I wanted glasses in the picture or not, etc.

In less than 24 hours, my AI-generated headshot was ready! It costed me just $40, which is a great deal.

The 7 AI Headshot Generation Tools Reviewed

I spent a lot of time testing the best AI headshot generators and here’s my honest review of the top 6 tools you might want to consider for your next project.

1. BetterPic

BetterPic is a cool app that lets you generate studio-quality headshots in seconds.

The process of using the app was easy. I had to fill out a detailed form that included age, eye color, hair color, ethnicity, etc. I then had to select where I’d be using the pictures — social media profile picture, CV/resume, online platforms, etc.

The best feature of BetterPic is that you get to choose how you want the background to look like, and what styles you want your headshots in. I chose the following three combinations —

  • Urban, smart casual
  • Outdoors, casual
  • Home office, formal
Screenshot from BetterPic

Then, I had to upload 8 images for the reference. You need 1 waist-up and 7 close-up photos, and these need to be non-blurry and of high quality.

After that, you’ll again be asked for confirmation about hair color, hair style, eye color, etc. Then, you’ll get an email that your order is being processed.

In less than an hour, your headshots will be ready. Look at the amazing results I got from the BetterPic AI headshot generator.

My favorite part? The detail in the background and the way light and shadow plays with my face in the headshots. It makes the pictures look real, and not AI-generated. I also think I should change my entire wardrobe and only wear burgundy from now on.

Jokes apart, here’s my favorite AI headshot generated using BetterPic

Strangely, BetterPic generated a lot of headshots without glasses, when I actually wear glasses pretty much all the time in real life. I think the reason is I uploaded a few glasses-free selfies, and the AI got confused.

But the strongest suit of BetterPic is that after your pictures are generated, you can hover your cursor over the one you like the best and click on “BP AI edit.” From there, you can change the clothing, background, eyes, skin, etc.

You can also select “Human edit” and write a prompt saying what improvements you want in your favorite headshot. Someone from the BetterPic team will read your prompt and get back to you with an edited picture within 24 hours.

I asked the BP Human editor to make me wear glasses in my favorite headshot. Here’s what the results look like —

I loved the interface and cool UI functionalities BetterPic has. It makes the experience seamless. The results are no doubt 100% natural-looking. All of these make BetterPic user friendly, intuitive, and the perfect tool to start with if you’re looking to get an AI-assisted makeover for yourself.

2. AI SuitUp

AI SuitUp is one of the first AI Professional Headshots generators. Their website claims that they have worked super hard on this version, and trust me, it shows!

The results turns out incredibly well. The headshots I generated using AI SuitUp were clearly the best among all the other tools I used to generate the AI headshots by myself.

The process is simple.

  • Head over to AI SuitUp.
  • Choose one of their payment plans. I picked the “Ultimate” model for testing out the best they have to offer.
  • Upload 15 selfies.
  • After that, you’ll get an email that the AI headshot generation process has started. The wording of the email makes me feel as if a team of humans are working with AI to generate my headshots.
Screenshot by the author.

This attention to detail clearly pays off. Unlike other headshot generators where you get your headshot within seconds, and the likeliness is laughable at best, the headshots generated by AI SuitUp stand out.

If I didn’t tell you these were AI-generated, would you know?

The AI SuitUp plans start at just $27 for 50 pictures and 6 hours turnaround time.

I tested the $57 package where you get 150 HD headshots in just 1 hour turnaround time. They use the latest AI model (FLUX), and it’s incredible how realistic and professional my new headshots look. I’m sharing my favorite picture from the AI photoshoot I did with AI SuitUp.

3. HeadshotPro

HeadshotPro is fast and easy to use. I got my headshot image ready in just a few simple steps. Here’s how it works —

  • Go to HeadshotPro, and choose the plan that makes sense for you.
  • Upload 15 photos. I mostly picked selfies
  • Update your details like height, weight, race, ace, body type etc.
  • Select the type of backgrounds and outfits you want. I let the AI pick these details for me, as I wanted to see how the pictures would turn out.
  • Wait for 2 hours for the AI to “work hard and prepare your headshots.”
Screenshot by the author.

You get a huge selection of photos to choose from. You can pick the ones you like, and ignore the rest.

It might sound weird, but think of it in terms of a real photoshoot.

If you click 300 pictures, you can only use a handful of them, right? In the rest, your eyes are closed, or your smile is awkward, or your hair is all over the place.

In an AI photoshoot, the duds are the ones where you don’t quite look like you, but an airbrushed, younger sibling you might have had in another life.

Here are the headshots I got from HeadshotPro. They are quite cool, and the ones with the mic make me feel like a star. They’re super realistic, and talking photos like this are useful when it comes to using on LinkedIn or promotional posts.

AI headshots generated using HeadshotPro.

I used the paid version, which comes with a profile-worthy guarantee. This means every customer is guaranteed at least 1 profile-worthy headshot. The payment plans start at $29 and go up to $59.

Another cool feature of HeadshotPro: Once you finalize your headshots, select the one you like the best, click on “Edit,” and then select “Remix Photo.”

This way, you get another few headshots in your favorite outfit and background for free! I’m sharing my favorite picture from the AI photoshoot I did with HeadshotPro.

4. Aragon.AI

As I try new tools, it seems the AI keeps getting better and better. Aragon.AI is a cool headshot generator tool that comes up with hyper-realistic, super professional AI headshots in less than an hour.

You get to select from a wide range of background and lighting, depending on what you want to use your headshots for.

Screenshot by the author of the Aragon.AI workspace.

Then, you need to enter some basic details like —

  • Age, ethnicity, hair and eye color
  • Choose your outfits and background

And boom. Click on “Generate,” and the AI will be back within an hour with a selection of 100 headshots to choose from (for the Premium plan).

Here’s my favorite headshot generated using Aragon.AI. My eye make-up looks on point, the glasses look natural, my expression is how I’d smile when I pose for a picture. Heck, it even got the texture of my hair correct.

If the headshot isn’t 100% to your liking, you can click on “Edit.” You’ll have multiple edit options like magic eraser, blemish remover, and photo expander.

If you want the picture to be at a particular location, you can even upload an existing picture for reference, and the AI will generate the headshot for you in your favorite location. You need to have an Aragon Pro subscription for that, which starts at just $8 per week.

Aragon.AI doesn’t stop at being an AI headshot generator. It has an entire array of AI tools including an AI image enhancer, magic eraser, and background changer.

The starter pack is priced at $35, where you get the choice of 1 outfit and 1 background. If you go for the Premium plan priced at $75, you get to try out all the attires and backgrounds they have in their collection. The headshots are so realistic, that this will be the best $75 you invest in your personal branding journey.

5. HeadshotKiwi

HeadshotKiwi is one of the most economical AI headshot generators I tried. With just $29, you can generate 40 headshots with 5 distinct background and attire options.

The process is simple -

  1. Head over to HeadshotKiwi and click on “Generate your headshots now.”
  2. Pick whichever pricing plan suits you best. To test out the features best for this article, I went for the “Executive plan” for $59. It promises a mind-boggling 250 headshots for you!
  3. Upload a minimum of 13 different photos with your face occupying at least 20% of frame.
  4. Fill in details like your name, age, ethnicity, eye color, etc.
  5. Select an AI avatar for yourself, which comes with options like Tech Executive, Lawyer, Public speaker, Corporate executive, Business Executive, etc.
  6. Select all your inputs one last time, then click on “Start AI photoshoot.”
  7. In about 1 hour, your headshots will be ready to download.

Let’s take a look at my AI headshots generated by HeadshotKiwi

AI headshots generated using HeadshotKiwi

I mean, wow.

If I got a professional photoshoot done, this is exactly how I’d like my pictures to turn out as. Super impressed with the picture quality, the likeness to my face, and the variety in outfits and backgrounds.

Here’s my favorite headshot of the lot —

When I write a bestselling book, this picture could be my author picture on the back cover. It’s that good!

HeadshotKiwi is a relatively new AI headshot generator, but its results are so good, it can give the other headshot generators a run for their money. And starting at just $29, it’s a steal deal!

6. Profile Bakery

Profile Bakery is a cool new AI headshot generator I recently tried. The process to get professional headshots is quite simple.

  1. Head over to Profile Bakery
  2. Select “Start now.”
  3. Upload 6–10 high-resolution selfies that clearly show your face.
  4. Next, upload a photo where your facial expression looks just how you want it for your headshots: Face well lit, upper Body and eye color visible.
  5. Select basic details like your gender, what style of photoshoot you want (Business, Dating Profile, etc.).
  6. Pick a plan. The “AI Mini” plan starts at just $24, and you get 30 pictures with 4 clothing variations. I went for the “AI Pro” package that generates 96 pictures in 12 clothing variations.
  7. Start your AI photoshoot.

Profile Bakery takes about 1 hour to generate beautiful AI headshots for you. It also offers other cool extras which I haven’t seen in any other AI headshot generators. These extras are —

  • Cover Letter Generator
  • Application assistant
  • Career Prompts
  • Premium CV Templates
  • LinkedIn Backgrounds
  • LinkedIn analysis

And more. If you’re looking for a job change or career upgrade, Profile Bakery could be a great option. Aside from just generating a headshot for your LinkedIn profile, it also helps you perfect your resume and LinkedIn profile. Truly, a value for money proposal.

Let’s take a look at the headshots Profile Bakery generated for me.

AI headshots generated using Profile Bakery

I loved Profile Bakery because the images it generates are more than just headshots. I got many full-body images that I can use for my Instagram, or any content I plan across social media.

The quality of these pictures are amazing. The outfit and background choices are refreshing, and compliment each other so well. They look very urban and stylish.

This is my favortite picture of the lot —

My favorite AI full-body image generated using Profile Bakery.

Honestly, all pictures are gorgeous. But I picked this one because of the fairy princess vibes it gives off.

I also got a CV in an editable Google Docs format —

If you’re looking for an easy-to-use AI headshot generator that creates full-body images as well as headshots for you, Profile Bakery is the best choice. You can use these images for your social media, dating profile, and wherever else you wish.

7. The Multiverse AI

The Multiverse AI is a super easy to use AI headshot generator. You need to upload 12 images, but these can’t be a series of selfies. An extra step in The Multiverse AI is that you need to manually crop each image into a square. The AI platform has in-built tools, so this barely takes a minute.

You don’t need to add any other information like your age, race, etc. This makes the AI headshot generation process time-effective, compared to other AI headshot generators on this list.

Let’s take a look at some of my results —

AI-generated headshots created using The Multiverse AI

Wow, I’m impressed by the quality of these headshots. They bear a striking resemblance to my face. The AI managed to capture my eyes and smile perfectly. Even the ones without glasses manage to look like me!

This is my favorite headshot of the lot —

My favorite AI-generated headshot created using The Multiverse AI

This one looks exactly like me, has the beautiful natural lighting of an outdoor photoshoot, and my skin doesn’t look overly airbrushed.

The Multiverse AI pricing plans is just $29 for 100 headshots. They don’t seem to have higher-priced models. But yes, 100 headshots for $29 sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

8. Fotor

The Fotor AI headshot generator is unique for 3 reasons —

  • You only need to upload 1 selfie to get upto 100 AI headshots.
  • It has multiple options where you can generate AI headshots for free.
  • You get 100 headshots in less than 10 minutes

If you’re looking for an AI photoshoot but are short on time and money, Fotor is the best option for you. It has multiple options of outfits and backgrounds, and you can pay for the ones you pick.

To test out this tool, I chose a “Business casual” style, and let the AI do its work. In about 7 minutes, my AI photoshoot was ready. Here’s a glimpse of the amazing AI headshots Fotor generated for me —

Ai headshots generated using Fotor

Not all of these headshots are amazing, but I can definitely use a couple of them for my social media and YouTube thumbnails. Considering Fotor is a free tool, you can use it to play around, generate some fun headshots, and get used to how AI headshot generators work.

Here’s my favorite photo of the lot —

Aside from the AI headshot generator, Fotor has multiple other AI tools like AI image enhancer, AI photo generator, AI presentation maker, face swap, etc. You can head over to their website and try out these cool AI tools.

9. Try It On

TryItOn is a cool AI headshot generator tool I recently came across and was tempted to try because of all the buzz it has created online.

The process of generating your AI headshots is simple —

  1. Go to TryItOn.AI and pick the plan you prefer
  2. Select your gender
  3. Upload 20 photos of yourself, including some full-body pictures.
  4. Select the parameters you’d want to fix in your headshots, like eye color, hair style, if you want glasses to be there in all pictures, etc.
  5. Choose your headshot style and click on “Complete submission.”

Of all the AI headshot generators I tried, TryItOn.AI has the most number of options to choose from when it comes to the style of photoshoot you want. Some cool ones I liked (but didn’t try) are — neon lights, Hollywood, florals, semi-casual studio, etc. These can come in handy when you need headshots for your portfolio as an actor, realtor, model, etc.

One more cool feature of TryItOn.AI is that it has an “Express headshot” option where you get your results within just 15 minutes. The pricing starts at $35 for 20 headshots. This makes it a major win compared to the other AI headshot generators, that take upto 1 hour to fetch your AI photoshoot results.

I picked the “Business studio,” and here are my results —

AI-generated headshots created using TryItOn.AI

As you can see, the AI generated headshots are pretty good. All headshots have an “AI edit” option where you can expand or upscale the image.

TryItOn.AI also has a “Human edit” option where you can request a human from the TryItOn.AI team to change any features you don’t like in your results. This gives the tool a lot of flexibility when it comes to making the headshots usable.

Here’s my favorite AI generated headshot of the lot —

My favorite AI-generated headshot created using TryItOn.AI

The skin and hair have a natural-looking texture, and don’t look overly airbrushed. My face looks pretty much like how it does in real life. I could use this picture on my social media, and I don’t think anyone could tell it’s AI-generated.

10. AI Headshot Generator

AI Headshot Generator is a cool tool you can use for 2 purposes —

  1. Create ID photos for your LinkedIn, resumes, or social media.
  2. Create an anime version of yourself.

And the best part? You only need to upload one selfie to get the cool AI headshots for you in less than a minute!

I was playing around with the tool, and decided to generate some “old money” style AI headshots for myself. Here are the results —

Old money headshots generated using AI Headshot Generator

Then, I tried the “Mob wife” style, and here’s what I got.

Mob wife headshots generated using AI Headshot Generator

Finally, I selected “Business lady” that I could try to use on LinkedIn, and these are my results —

Business lady headshots generated using AI Headshot Generator

The headshots generated by AI Headshot Generator have a distinct AI-stylized touch, making them great for digital avatars when you prefer not to use real photos.

They also have options to generate comic book illustrations of your face, artistic pixellated pictures, futuristic rederations, and many more. If you’re looking to unleash your creativity with AI and see versions of yourself in different universes, AI Headshot Generator is a cool place to start.

Here’s my favorite AI-generated headshot from AI Headshot Generator (No surprises that it’s a comic book illustration style — so dreamy).

Comic book illustration-style headshot generated using AI Headshot Generator

If you’re looking to see an Anime you, or cartoonize yourself, AI Headshot Generator is a cool tool to play with. The pricing starts at just $0.59 for 1 style and 3 photos.

My Final Verdict: Why Fiverr Beats all AI Headshot Generators

After experimenting with multiple AI headshot generators, I got the most satisfactory results from Fiverr.

A few free apps also gave me decent results, but some had limited customization options, while others were either expensive or failed to generate realistic images.

On Fiverr, I can have advanced editing options with human editors who specialize in generating realistic and studio-quality headshots.

It’s easier to convey the nuances of your requirements to Fiverr editors than to an AI tool where you’re mostly doing the guesswork.

Fiverr’s headshot generators are premium-level freelancers who are best at their job so you can rest assured that the quality of images would not be sacrificed.

This makes the platform more affordable and effective than any other.

Why Use AI Headshot Generators?

AI has evolved a lot over the past few years, and considering how quickly it’s growing and improving, it’s here to stay.

The results that I got from these tools were pretty good, and it simplified my work on various levels.

  • Hassle-free: I didn’t have to take extra time to dress up, find a perfect corner and lighting, or take 100s of photos just to get one decent shot. It was quick, effortless, and saved me from the behind-the-scenes efforts of coordinating and planning a traditional photo shoot.
  • Super affordable: I didn’t have to book a studio or buy any fancy equipment. Most of the headshot generators were free-to-use and they generated good quality pictures in a few seconds.
  • Customizable: It gave me plenty of options to experiment with different styles, lighting, and backgrounds until I found the perfect look. I had full control over how my headshot turned out, without arranging a photoshoot.

All these benefits made the experience with AI tools worth it. And I’m surely going to use them for my content creation.

Methodology: How I Tested These Tools

I was looking for high-quality, reliable tools to create images for my content. So, I picked some key criteria to test a few AI tools and find the best ones that create personalized images tailored to my content needs.

Realism and quality

I didn’t want to get pictures that were layered with multiple filters or looked too artificial. I wanted realistic headshots that looked professionally edited without compromising the quality of the image.

I paid close attention to details like facial features, skin tone accuracy, and how natural the lighting and shadows were.

Customization options

AI photo generators analyze the photos you upload to learn about your facial features and then use that information to create a model.

You might not get the perfect result right away, which is why I looked for tools that offer enough room to experiment.

The more customization options I had, the better I could adjust the style, lighting, and background of my headshot to align with my tone, personality, and the platforms where I’d use it.

Ease of use

I wanted headshot generators to make my work quicker and simpler, so I chose easy-to-use apps.

These tools must have a user-friendly and intuitive interface so I can get my headshots done without wasting time figuring out how they work.

Pricing and value for money

Finding affordable options was a priority but I also considered whether the features and quality justified the price.

The goal was to find tools that provide a good balance between cost and value, so I could get professional-looking headshots without overspending.

Speed of results

Quick results were one of the most important criteria for selecting the right headshot generator. These work great for time-sensitive projects where I need a picture ASAP to meet the deadline or make an announcement on my social media.

When to Use AI Headshots (and When Not To)

AI headshots work best for creating images for websites or profile pictures for LinkedIn.

They are also great for generating images for social media posts or marketing materials.

These AI tools won’t take much time or money and can make your job easier by generating images for–

  • Personal branding on socials.
  • Resumes/CVs.
  • Website pages.

But there are still some cases where traditional photography would be a better option like —

  • When you need a specific location for the photo.
  • When you need to showcase a specific product you’re holding, like in ads.
  • When capturing natural expressions or unique moments matters.

Tips for Choosing the Right AI Headshot Generator

Using AI tools to generate images is definitely a good option to outsource some of your creative tasks.

But it’s still a new concept. It could be confusing to find the right tool, so here are a few tips that might help you:

  • Be goal-oriented when choosing a tool. Think about what you’re really looking for in an AI-generated image — whether you want a casual and creative style or a realistic headshot, and choose the AI tool accordingly.
  • Don’t rush; experiment with free versions before committing financially to any particular AI tool.
  • Make sure you get to download a high-resolution image that’s suitable for professional use.

Conclusion: Best AI Headshot Generator Tool

AI headshot generators are great tools for creating professional images in less time. But they have limitations when it comes to getting the right style, enough editing options, or realistic expressions in the image.

Based on these criteria, Fiverr remains at the top of my list of AI tools that generate professional headshots.

It gives more reliable results than any other tool, as the image is created by an AI expert who knows exactly which tools work best for your needs.

If you’re not an AI expert but want to make the most of headshot generators, I definitely recommend checking out Fiverr. The attention to detail and picture quality you get there are truly impressive.

If you’re looking for even more polished results, Fiverr Pro is the best option. It connects you with top-rated experts who can fine-tune your image to make it look as professional as possible.

You can’t go wrong in getting your editing needs done by these AI experts on Fiverr.

Now, you know where to go to get the best editing and image generation services. It’s time to enhance your online presence by discovering your perfect headshot tool today and elevating your professional image with ease.

Other than that, if you’d like to try your hand at generating your AI headshot yourself, here are my top 5 picks:
