Great article. Some amazing insights you have added about relating with Luna and Ron in HP.

I recently made a YouTube video about how it feels to re-read HP as an adult. One of my friends (who I like and admire a lot, in general) attacked me for it, saying I was abusing my privilege of being a cis-woman, and promoting JKR's work even though she had made inflammatory transphobic comments.

According to the friend, every person should stop talking about HP and JKR because that is the only way we can show our support to the LGBTQ+ community.

I don't know if my friend was right or wrong, but it got me thinking - is it so wrong to separate the art from the artist? Can I disagree with JKR's work and still love HP because it has been such an integral part of my childhood?

Sorry for the rant. This just happened, and I pretty upset about it. I thought you might be able to offer some insight into this. :)
